The Advantages of High-Pressured Water

Waterjets are highly precise, computer driven machines that cut through a wide variety of materials with an accuracy of +/-.010”. A high pressure pump generates a 60,000 psi stream of water. The machine then combines this water with a steady flow of garnet abrasive, adding an extra punch. This creates our .030” wide jet, which the machine then moves along the predetermined cut path.

A benefit of this process is that water jets generate no heat so there’s no slag, no hardened edges, and no heat warping. This makes sharpening or welding parts much easier later on.
